04 August 2020 - London, UK – We’re thrilled to announce that Overleaf is a finalist in the 2020 SaaS Awards Program in the category Best SaaS for Nonprofits or Education.

Now in its fifth year of celebrating software innovation, the Software-as-a-Service Awards program accepts entries worldwide, including the US, Canada, Australasia, EMEA and UK.

John Hammersley, CEO and co-founder of Overleaf said:

“I’m especially proud of all the work our team is doing in this challenging year to help continue supporting all our users across education and beyond. To be recognised for this at the SaaS Awards is very nice to see, and it’s a testament both to the hard work of our team and to the contribution Overleaf is making to help collaboration in these changing times. ”

Head of Operations for the SaaS Awards, James Williams, said: “Software-as-a-service’s force for positive disruption never seems to abate, with seemingly unending solutions for modern business.

“This year is of course a special case, with SaaS not only at the forefront of remodelling existing business processes, but also agilely responding with pioneering solutions to unavoidable global disruptions. Indeed, SaaS technologies are now celebrated as providing new and inventive ways for organizations to perform what might have once seemed simple tasks in a changing international landscape. From fulfilling orders to arranging meetings, SaaS technologies are more important than ever.

“It’s our joy at the SaaS Awards to celebrate the innovations that fuel business, although of course compiling this year’s shortlist has been more difficult than ever. We look forward to announcing the category winners at the end of August.”

Final SaaS Awards winners will be announced on Tuesday 25 August 2020. To view the full shortlist, please visit: https://www.cloud-awards.com/2020-software-awards-shortlist/

    About Overleaf

Overleaf is a startup and social enterprise that builds modern collaborative authoring tools for scientists — like Google Docs for Science. Our primary product is an online, real time collaborative editor for papers, theses, technical reports and other documents written in the LaTeX markup language.

Overleaf has seen rapid adoption across science and research, and now supports a community of over six million users worldwide. This community includes major institutions such as Stanford and Caltech, with Overleaf becoming an integral part not only of research collaborations but also of undergraduate teaching. Many large international tech companies and labs use our enterprise solutions, and we work with several major publishers: for example, supporting collaboration on IEEE’s member platform, and making the journal submission process smoother for LaTeX users across many academic publishers.

Overleaf was founded by two mathematicians who were inspired by their own experiences in academia to create a better solution for scientific collaboration and communication. Now we are a team of forty, based mainly in and around the UK and in the US. We were recognised as one of the UK's top 100 fastest growing businesses in 2018.
